IDENTITIES
In IDENTITIES, real fingerprints, taken by several unknown people met on the street, were engraved and transferred on a mirrored surface.
The work reflects on the meaning of individual identity and how it is in constant dynamic and co-creative interaction with others.

IDENTITIES questions the two fundamental characteristics of the fingerprint, uniqueness and immutability, suggesting their alternative interpretation in the light of the Ubuntu vision.
In fact, the fingerprint, proof of our unique individuality, is thus determined by the people we meet during life; the immutability of the grooves we have on our fingers is subverted by the presence of the changing faces that are reflected on us.

In IDENTITIES, what I am here and now is given by those I have met, consciously and not, by those who have seen in me its reflection, of today, yesterday or tomorrow. I am both myself and all the people who have passed through me and will pass through me.
