Ubuntu Gate

Ubuntu Gate is an immersive installation inspired by the Ubuntu philosophy: “I am because we are.” The work reflects on the urgency of rebuilding human connection in a time marked by conflict, division, and fear of the other.
Originally recreated in the Arsenali of Pisa (Italy), the installation is composed of organic forms cut from donated X-ray sheets, anonymously assembled into a shared body.
Semi-transparent colored elements intertwine through fluid and indissoluble bonds, generating a living network of relationships. Suspended in space like luminous veils, the installation allows visitors to see both the surrounding world and their own reflection.
The audience is invited to walk around and through the structure, transforming the encounter with others into an encounter with oneself.
Ubuntu Gate ultimately symbolizes a repaired humanity, where connection replaces separation and coexistence becomes essential to our existence.
